Drumroll Please!

You guys are awesome!  In a very short time, 54 entries from 28 people came POURING in.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness and creativity in helping Josiah name his budding new business.   It was extremely difficult to narrow down the list but Josiah’s amazing caregivers were up to the challenge.  I may have sent a few too many text messages to them with lists of names that were continually needing to be tweaked.  Everyone liked different ones so identifying the 3 favorites for Josiah to choose from was a bit of a challenge.

When the finalists were decided, the whisper guided Josiah through the selection process.  It was just after an evening shower, when Josiah usually prefers to head straight to his room.  He had just 4 hours of sleep the night before and walked a few miles that afternoon. Though he was tired, he complied.  Josiah was called over to the counter where he promptly sat down on a stool.   Three index cards were placed in front of him and the names read to him in order.

Josiah initially moved one of the cards but left it lay on the counter.  We reread the names and watched as Josiah appeared to be studying them.  He truly enjoyed the whole process.  The names on the cards were:

Expressions by Josiah submitted by Kim Lindquist

No Limits Creations submitted by Cindy Nelson

Josiah’s Hidden Treasures submitted by Marcia Whitworth

After a bit of contemplation, Josiah returned to his initial selection.  He picked up the card that said Expressions by Josiah and handed it to the whisperer, then broke into a grin.

Congratulations Kim Lindquist!  Josiah’s new business is officially named Expressions by Josiah. You will receive one of Josiah’s original masterpiece paintings which will be delivered to you this week.

Since it’s World Down Syndrome Day where we celebrate the joy of life with a little something extra, we thought we’d celebrate by awarding a little something extra to the 2 runners up and give each of them an original masterpiece also.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this contest.  All the names suggested were amazing!  We greatly appreciate your creativity.  You made naming Josiah’s business a fun, collaborative effort.  As soon as photographs of each of his paintings are prepped they will be uploaded for sale on Josiah’s Facebook Page

Happy World Down Syndrome Day to everyone BLESSED with a little something extra. You truly are original masterpieces!
