Liquid Gold

Josiah has dealt with GI issues for far too many years.  It’s been an ongoing source of discomfort for him and frustration for us.  It’s extremely difficult to watch someone you love suffer while helpless to provide relief.  That’s how it’s been for longer than I can remember.

Initially we weren’t sure what was causing such pain and aggression.  Since Josiah is unable to tell us how he’s feeling, we’ve been left to try to figure it out by keeping careful data, looking for clues, ruling out possibilities, eliminating certain foods, adding in other foods, introducing new medicines, tweaking medicine doses, adding supplements, removing supplements, increasing liquids, increasing exercise and most definitely increasing prayer!

We’ve visited doctors and specialists.  We added protective clothing to keep Josiah safe from himself.  I’ll probably mention this many more times over the course of this blog but Josiah LIVED in a padded softball helmet with a full face shield for 3 years!!  All to keep him safe during extreme bouts of pain which caused severe aggression.

We’ve visited multiple GI specialists and made many visits to hospital emergency rooms.  Josiah had in-hospital and in-home clean outs.  All we could do was watch, trying our best to help eliminate the pain as much as possible while our poor guy suffered with no end to his discomfort in sight.

Sometimes, we’d make a little progress.  Josiah would get some temporary relief but before long we’d be right back where we started from.

Well meaning specialists had suggestions and offered possible solutions but none of them resolved the issue.  We just wanted it fixed.  Josiah needed it to be fixed.  It’s been too many years for him to be living with this pain.  We didn’t want suggestions.  What we needed quite frankly was something to IMMEDIATELY block the pain.

What we found is something that does almost exactly that!

It doesn’t immediately block the pain but it’s pretty darn close.   Full pain relief takes only about 10-15 minutes.  You can set a stop watch to test it.

One minute Josiah will be cramped over in pain, shrieking, in all out attack-mode, I’m sure in a desperate attempt to communicate I AM IN PAIN.  I NEED HELP!  Fifteen minutes later, after applying this, it’s as if a switch has been flipped.  The pain goes away completely and Josiah is smily and happy again!  It truly is miraculous.

If you or someone you know has any type of stomach discomfort, I highly recommend giving this a try.  I was skeptical at first and quite honestly don’t recall exactly how I learned of this amazing product, but I’m so glad we tried it and so incredibly grateful it works!  I’m not in any way affiliated with this company and I do not receive any compensation for endorsing this product, however everyone needs to know about it.  So, here you go.  This my friends is what has made all the difference for Josiah.

We call this stuff Liquid Gold! We buy it from local independent distributors who sell it, we buy it from Amazon, we buy it from Vitamin shops on line.  If you were standing on a street corner wearing a trench coat full of these little bottles, we would buy every single one.

A caregiver raced out in the night on more than one occasion to get some when Josiah was in dire need and we realized we were out!  Thankfully, she found someone close to us who just happened to have a bottle on hand. One time we were so desperate we even bought a partially used bottle.  This stuff is that good.

At the first sign of discomfort, we rub this on Josiah’s abdomen.  It can also be applied to his feet and even diffused in his room overnight.

During extremely difficult times,  we pour bottles of the stuff all over Josiah multiple times a day.  Kidding!  It’s much too expensive for that.

We do use it proactively however,  to ward off any pain/discomfort before it begins and it works!

Here’s the not-so-good news.  Digize has become increasingly hard to find on line.  Prices have increased and in some cases it takes weeks before it can be shipped out.

So, I found a DIY recipe for Digize.  Now we make it ourselves which is the more cost effective way to go.    We haven’t decided if the DIY version works as quickly as the real stuff, but it definitely is working.  Plus, I just found an unopened bottle of Digize in a kitchen cabinet.  It was like winning the lottery on Christmas morning, waking up in Bora Bora.  SCORE!

So, there you have it.  For anyone who has a nonverbal loved one with GI issues who suffers from cramping pain, TRY THIS!!  Then let us know how it goes.

This is interesting! Glad you found something that works so well. Do you happen to know if the ingredients are safe for very young children?

      Hi Mary,

I did a bit of research and this is what I found:

DiGize is a blend of Tarragon, Juniper, Ginger, Peppermint, Fennel, Anise, Lemongrass, and Patchouli essential oils. All of those combined have been known to provide powerful relief when applied and support a healthy tummy. This essential oil blend is also a popular one to have on hand as your baby gets older and begins to explore new food groups.

Since this blend contains a powerful combo of essential oils, diluting before applying on your baby is recommended. A 1:1 ratio of carrier oil and essential oil should do the trick!

      But then also this:
DiGize contains Ginger, Anise, Fennel, Peppermint, Tarragon, Lemongrass, Patchouli, and Juniper essential oils. Anise, Lemongrass Tarragon, and Fennel are heavy duty oils with very low dermal limits and should not be used on young children. Anise and Fennel are not recommended for children under 5 years of age. Lemongrass is not recommended for children under the age of 2 years old (0.7% max dermal for adults). It also contains peppermint which, as I’ve already mentioned, has menthol and may cause breathing issues in small children.

      Great article: https://thebirthhour.com/essential-oils-for-babies/

If it were me, I’d proceed with caution before using this on very young children.

Thank you Kim! We are thrilled it works so amazingly well for him! How do you use it at your house? I put it in a diffuser a couple of nights in Josiah’s room but the scent is quite strong! Just curious if you ingest it or use it topically.
